Fabulous Firsts

A generous donor has made possible the development of Fabulous Firsts, a celebration of reading and of first graders. Throughout the month of September, first graders and parents meet at their own school and each new student receives a new hardcover book, listen to the principal and other guests read from the book, and enjoy refreshments and celebrate reading as the key to a successful journey over the next 12 years and throughout life.

Thanks to Aidan Myhre for underwriting this program and to the Montana Book Company for assistance with purchase of these wonderful books for our first grade students!  Thanks also to the Qwest Pioneers for providing copies of the Fabulous Firsts books to each of the elementary school libraries.

The 2010 Fabulous Firsts books will be revealed at the reading celebrations at each school in September.
