Conversation Starters

There were 38 conversations over dinner Wednesday at the Great Northern Hotel ranging in topics from worldly travels and wolves to crop circles and war.

Some came as experts, others came curious, and most came eager to talk.

 

More than 300 people attended the eighth annual Great Conversations, hosted by the Helena Education Foundation, at the Great Northern Best Western Hotel Wednesday night.

 

Each table — with about eight people — had a specific topic to lead the evening’s discussions. Each table also had a facilitator, not charged with leading the conversation, but rather stimulating it.

 

Lisa Cordingley, HEF executive director, said the event gets better each year because of learning from the year before. She says the nature of the event is always changing due to people’s evolving interests and the hot topics of current issues.
