School Officials Reflect on Their Work

One of the biggest factors between students who are performing well and those who are not is family income.
This is no surprise to Craig Crawford, principal of the Project for Alternative Learning, who moved here less than a year ago from Georgia where he dealt with similar issues.
Crawford was one of about 35 school administrators who attended a Thursday morning discussion with Chris Lohse, research, development and dissemination director for the Council of Chief State School Officers. Community members also attended a free lecture, “Helena in Context: Understanding Education Outcomes,” Tuesday night. Both events were sponsored by the Helena Education Foundation.
